WHY A BUN??? The classical bun is an important part of the dancer's uniform. By pulling hair back close to the head, a dancer permits the teacher to have the best view of the line of a dancer's head, neck, and spine. This is essential for any corrections, which will allow the dancer to develop into a properly trained one. Hair not restrained by a bun will distract the student and whip their face and eyes as they jump and turn. A classical bun also shows the level of professionalism expected of the students by their teacher.
