Margie Pierce, Director

Margie Pierce began her training under the direction of Judy Cupo-Brandon and Pamela Shickler at A Touch of Dance, in Rochester NY.  As a class demonstrator and student teacher, Margie found her life's calling as a dance teacher.  She continued her training and received her BFA in Dance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  As a scholarship student of the Five College Dance program she had the privilege of working with Billbob Brown, Andrea Watkins, Jim Coleman, Peggy Schwartz, Ken Lipitz, Jin Wen Yu, Darwin Prioleau, and Bebe Miller, among others.

Margie had the pleasure of attending summer dance festivals at Jacob's Pillow, Bates Dance Festival, Texas Christian University, and the NY State Summer School for the Arts, where she studied with renowned dancers/choreographers including David Dorfman, Sean Curran, and Paul Taylor alums Carolyn Adams, Ruth Andrien, and Hernando Cortez. 

Her performance credits include Pittsburg Ballet, Rochester City Ballet, University Dancers, Hoi Polloi, Mad Shak, Motivity, Thodos Dance Chicago, Bosoma, Infulx Dance, Accumulation Dance, Weber Dance, and Hip Hop Mamas.  She has performed locally at the Shubert Theater, ICA, CMAC, GSS, and the Dance Complex.  Margie has traveled around the country to perform, being presented in Alaska, Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, Washington DC, Ohio, and internationally at the Montreal Fringe Festival.

Mrs. Pierce has been on the faculty of College of the Holy Cross, Ballet Nouveau Colorado, Juneau Dance Unlimited, Boulder Arts Academy, Mountain Dance Center, Chicago Parks Department, Nazareth Academy, A Touch of Dance, and was a program and dance director at Lakeshore Athletic Club. 

Margie began teaching at Dancers Workshop in 2005 and became director in 2008.  In addition to the classes she teaches at the studio, she directs the Performance Group, is a mentor to the student company A Step Above Dance Company, and teaches Hip Hop to adults with Down's Syndrome. 

Margie is a member of Dance Teachers Club of Boston and Boston Dance Alliance.

Elizabeth Bernstein

Elizabeth Bernstein has been teaching jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance to young children through adults for over 20 years, and has been on faculty at Dancers Workshop since 1995.  She is the founder/choreographer for the Hip Hop Mamas, an adult dance company in residence at Dancers Workshop that performs at area festivals and fund-raising events.  Elizabeth is guest faculty at Mass Ballet and offers workshops and master classes throughout the Boston area.  Her choreography has been produced through a variety of projects, including Dean College's dance company Stylized Movement, celebratory events, and as choreographer/dancer for an international music video. She trained in modern dance since the age of five, and studied Afro-Caribbean dance with the Garth Fagan Dance Company of Rochester, NY.  She was a member of the Body Language Dance Company in Boston, and has performed in several community theater productions.  Elizabeth is on staff at the Healing Garden of Harvard, MA as Administrative and Marketing Assistant, and Arts Therapist to those experiencing breast cancer.  She has her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, and received her MBA from Penn State University.

Christin Collins

Christin Collins began her training at the Lexington School of Ballet and continued her studies by attending Boston University, where she earned a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Dance. While at BU, Christin performed and choreographed contemporary works for the BU Dance Theater Group and was a dance instructor for their family recreation programs. Christin is currently a company member of the Boston based dance companies Luminarium Dance Company and the Adagio Dancers.  In addition to teaching at Dancer's Workshop, Christin is on the dance faculty at Boston University, the Lexington School of Ballet, the American Chinese Art Society, and MIT’s Physical Education Program.

Susan Craver

Susan Craver, originally from the North Shore, has been teaching at the Dancers' Workshop for over 20 years. At Dancers Workshop she teaches Creative Movement and Ballet/Tap in the young dancers program and is the resident Tap teacher for all ages, including adults.  Susan is the artistic director of the Adult Tap company, the Tappin' Sole Sisters, in residence at Dancers Workshop.  After receiving her BA degree from the University of  Massachusetts, Boston, she continued her studies and received a K-12 teaching certificate. Susan has been on faculty of area dance schools in East Boston, Revere, Ashland.  She has a passion for working with senior dancers and is presently teaching at the Fairbanks Senior Center in Sudbury, Callahan Senior Center in Framingham , Summerville Assisted Living, and The Metrowest YMCA.  As a certified Zumba instructor, she teaches adults and kids and is loving it!  Susan has been an active member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston since 1990 and is happy to be doing something she loves!

Nicole Murphy

Nicole Murphy's extensive experience includes over thirty years of dancing, twenty years of teaching, and eight years of professional performing.  Nicole's dance education began with numerous dance schools in Massachusetts and her continued education took place at the Boston Ballet, Boston Conservatory, Dean College, and as a scholarship student at the Jeanette Neill Dance School. Nicole was the resident choreographer and a dancer for the Riverside Theater and Publick Theater productions including, “Scrooge the Musical”, “Bye Bye Birdie”, “Kiss Me Kate”, “West Side Story” and many others.  She is teaching dance as part of the Brookline Schools after school program and has been on faculty at elementary schools and summer arts camps in the Boston area.  At Dancers Workshop Nicole is the Birthday Party Coordinator and the co-director of the Performance Group.  Nicole volunteers for the Children's Dance Festival of Boston and creates outreach performances for our performers at local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Nicole is a member of Dance Teachers Club of Boston.

Jennifer Weeks

 Jennifer Weeks is a former student of Paula Scardino, of Framingham, and has been teaching since 2001.  She continued her studies as a dance major at Dean College and received her degree in 2003.  Jennifer is on faculty at multiple studios in and around the MetroWest area.  She can also be seen teaching Creative Movement in area daycare and nursery schools.  Jennifer has performed in many different venues around the area and her choreography has been sought out by local organizations.  Her work has been included in summer camps, high school proms, private parties, and on stage.  She is a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston and attends annual meetings, where she continues to grow and learn as a teacher, choreographer, and performer.

Katie Dunkel Zeek

Katie Dunkel received her BA in Dance from Hamilton College with a Minor in Anthropology and is also a graduate of the Trinity/La Mama program in New York City. Katie has taught dance at schools in New York, Vermont, and Connecticut, and was the Director of Dance at Burr & Burton Academy in Manchester, VT. Since moving to Boston, she has had the pleasure of performing work by choreographers and companies including: Audra Carabetta, EgoArt, Cat Murcek, Mariah Steele, Danny Swain Dance Company, and WeberDance. An alumna of the Shared Choreographers Concert (2007) at the Dance Complex and the Emerging Artists Program (2009) at Green Street Studios, Katie has presented her own choreography in Cambridge and New York City.   Katie is the Director of Operations at Green Street Studios in Cambridge and also holds her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification through YogaWorks.

Hannah Camiel

Hannah is a Junior teacher at Dancers Workshop.  She has been a teachers assistant for three years and is being mentored to be a lead teacher.  She is currently a senior at Wayland High School and hopes to continue dancing in college next year.
